Mission
Our mission is to honor, preserve and perpetuate the
memory and dignity of the men and women who have served in the U. S. Armed Forces, Coast Guard, and Wartime Merchant
Marine. We support the community through our museum activities, educational programs, oral histories, and community
programs that keep alive the contributions and experiences of those who served. All monies raised goes directly to supporting
the VMMV's programs and operations.
The mission of the museum began in the summer of 2009
with the goal of making sure that our veterans "Shall Not Be Forgotten".
Purpose
First and foremost, to honor and
preserve the memory of local veterans through a museum dedicated to their contributions, to create and protect the freedoms
that we as Americans enjoy. To serve as an educational tool that teaches youth about our military involvement throughout
the world, and finally to provide a unique tourist hotspot in Miami County.
